This quality stone barn conversion, whilst retaining many original features provides spacious accommodation of great charm and character, with a subtle hint of luxury. Its situation in the quiet, pretty village of Thornton Rust makes it ideal for families, walkers and those exploring the area by car and, together with magnificent views over Wensleydale, this cottage offers a peaceful retreat in which to "get away from it all."
The ground floor is open plan: White washed walls, stone features, wooden beams, Italian tiled floor and a multi-fuel stove create a warm country atmosphere. The lounge area is very spacious, with a large rug and plenty of comfortable seating (one of the settees is a bed-settee for occasional extra guests). The dining area has a solid oak refectory table, which can seat up to 8 people and overlooks the patio through French doors. The Farmhouse pine kitchen has integrated appliances and is very well equipped.
A pine staircase leads upstairs: Two bedrooms, one twin and a very large double bedroom, house bathroom. In all rooms the floor is pine boarded with scatter rugs. The master double room is luxurious and romantic and has an en-suite shower room with power shower, wash basin, toilet and shaver point. A second fully glazed door leads onto a balcony (at the top of the outside traditional, stone staircase) and boasts the most amazing view over Lady Hill and across the valley, towards The North Yorkshire Moors. The twin room is tastefully decorated with delicate stencilling and the beds can be put together to form a large double. The bathroom has a white suite with gold fittings, bath with power shower over, WC, washbasin and shaver point.
Outside: Courtyard with private parking, patio and garden area with garden furniture and a large walled meadow, making a very safe area for children to play, or for others to sit and admire the breath taking views. To provide extra accommodation, The Piggery can be let, on a nightly basis, with The Old Goat House so would be ideal for family or friends visiting you during your holiday. It is a detached building beyond the cottage and comprises of a double-bedded room with basic kitchen facilities and an en-suite shower room.
